Senator Scott Rupp was the ONLY candidate in the Secretary of State’s race to stand for the unborn and oppose Stem Cell cloning and destruction in the MOSIRA bill recently passed in the legislature’s special session in 2011. He has been commended by Missouri Right to Life and other pro life groups for his efforts to protect life on this issue.

Senator Rupp sponsored & passed legislation that STOPPED your tax dollars from funding abortions via Obama Care.

Scott protected life by passing legislation that strengthens Missouri’s insurance ban on elective abortions.  When federal government passed Obama Care, Senator Rupp’s quickly responded and passed a bill that prohibits abortions being paid for by our tax dollars and stopped the Federal Government health exchanges from offer abortion coverage.  Senator Rupp believes in the sanctity of every human life and has supported every effort to protect the unborn and provide alternatives to abortions.

 
 

Senator Rupp co-sponsored legislation to thwart the attack by the Obama Administration on religious institutions and abortion services mandates.

After Obama’s administration announced plans to force religious groups and church’s to offer abortive procedures, which was a complete attack on religious liberty in America, Scott cosponsored SB749 (2012). He ushered the bill through his committee and it has already been passed the Missouri Senate and awaits passage in the House.

Senator  Rupp has supported and  co-sponsored many other important pro life legislation such as~

  • the 24 Hour wait before abortions
  • requiring an ultrasound be offered before abortions servicers
  •  provided banning of taking minors across state lines to receive abortions.

Protecting the sanctity of life is a cornerstone of Scott’s beliefs.

Scott Rupp is sponsoring the bill aimed at stopping telemed abortions in Missouri(2012 MO Right to Life priority bill)
The latest trend in skirting states laws that require a consultation with a physician, some abortion providers are using webcam/closed circuit TV cameras to count as physician consults before dispensing abortion inducing drugs such as RU486. To stop that practice Scott has filed SB658 which puts safety measures on abortion inducing drugs and requires a face to face consultation with a physician before receiving the abortion drugs. This is a priority bill of many pro-life organizations.

Rupp is seeking to strengthen the medical conscience laws in Missouri. (Americans United for LifePriority bill)
After many lawyers have been trying to find loopholes in the medical conscience laws in the states. Scott seeks to protect against medical professionals being forced to perform end of life medical treatments or fetal research against their moral objections. Sen. Rupp filed SB657 this session to protect these rights.
